At the Modimo O Teng Foundation, we believe that kindness is a ripple that can change lives. Founded by Kopano Hosene in Randfontein, South Africa, our mission is to uplift local communities through acts of care, dignity, and unity. From clothing and soup drives to partnerships with local schools and organizations, we’re dedicated to meeting real needs — one family, one smile, one moment at a time.
About us
The Modimo O Teng Foundation (MOTF) was born from a simple, yet powerful idea: when one person in a community stands up to help, it inspires many others to follow suit. Founded by Kopano Hosene, a young, passionate electrical engineer from Mohlakeng, the Foundation emerged after Kopano witnessed classmates and young women in his community missing school or losing dignity due to lack of access to basic sanitary products.
Recognising that hardship takes many forms, the Foundation has since grown its scope — organising clothing drives, supporting libraries, helping child-headed households, and partnering with local schools and orphanages. While our work is rooted in townships such as Mohlakeng and the Montrose informal settlement, our ambition is to expand further into Gauteng and beyond as support grows
Our vision
At Modimo O Teng Foundation, our vision is to build a compassionate and self-sustaining community rooted in faith and unity. We strive to create a South Africa where no one is left behind, and every person has access to basic needs and opportunities. Our goal is to restore dignity to vulnerable families through consistent outreach and empowerment initiatives. We envision communities strengthened by collaboration, where kindness and generosity are everyday values. By partnering with schools, local organizations, and volunteers, we aim to nurture a culture of giving and responsibility. We believe that small acts of love can create lasting social change.
Through every drive, donation, and shared effort, we hope to inspire a movement of care that transcends boundaries.
Our foundation exists as a reminder that hope still lives in every heart that chooses to help. Ultimately, we see a future where unity transforms lives — because God is truly among us.
Our goals
To provide consistent support to underprivileged families through food and clothing drives. To expand our outreach beyond Montrose into more communities across South Africa. To collaborate with local schools, businesses, and faith-based groups for sustainable impact. To establish regular community programs that promote education, health, and empowerment. To create volunteer opportunities that inspire youth involvement and social responsibility.
To strengthen partnerships that help us reach more people in need. To develop long-term projects focused on self-reliance and community growth. To increase awareness about poverty and encourage collective action. To ensure transparency, accountability, and trust in all our initiatives.
To serve as a beacon of hope — proving that through unity and faith, Modimo o teng (God is here).
